Documentary Family Photographer in Cherry Hill, NJ

Most family photos are a performance. Everyone gets dressed up, drives somewhere scenic, and spends an hour being told where to stand and when to smile. What you end up with is a picture of your family behaving — which is not the same thing as a picture of your family.

I work differently. I come to your house for a morning or a full day and photograph what actually happens. The cereal on the floor. The kid who won't put the book down. The dog who has opinions about all of it. No posing, no directions, no matching outfits. You go about your Saturday and I stay out of the way.

I'm based in Cherry Hill and work throughout South Jersey — Haddonfield, Moorestown, Collingswood — and into Philadelphia. Sessions start at $500.

What you get back isn't a set of portraits. It's a record of what this particular stretch of your life actually looked like, while your kids were still this age and your house still sounded like this. In ten years the posed photos will look like everyone else's posed photos. These will look like yours.
